Question: What is a cut-off level for a urine test?
Answer: The level a substance must exceed in urine to trigger a preliminary positive result.
With any instant urine test it is important to note a negative result does not always mean the urine sample is free of that substance. It may contain the substance at a concentration that is lower than the defined cut-off level. Different substances are processed by the body at different rates. The window of detection begins to decrease over time once it has reached its highest level of concentration in the body. Other factors which can affect detection time include: physical body type, metabolic rate, dietary habits, dose size, dose method.
Why use (CLIA Waived) tests?
Many of the doctors, hospitals, and clinics who use our tests are required to use urine test cups which are (CLIA Waived). This means the tests have been cleared for pro use as well as over-the-counter use.
Why is the built-in temperature strip useful?
The temperature strip can help ensure a urine sample is freshly collected from the intended donor. Within 2 to 4 minutes of collection, human urine should register between 90 and 100 degrees (F). Look for the GREEN indicator to appear. Urine which does not register here may have been tampered with or substituted.
